Wombat-Moose

This is an illustration from my current work in progress. It is a poem about the interesting creatures one can find in a sleeping house.

Hi,
Nice illustration. Be careful when doing a double spread that you keep things away from the gutter. The goose's wing and his hornet tail are to close, so is the picture on the wall, if this illustration was bound in a book, they would get lost in the gutter. Right now they look fine, being a promo piece, but you want editors to know that you understand about book construction. Look at a picture book's double spread and see how far the images and text are from the center.
Is one of the goose's feet backwards? And finally maybe show more of what a wombat-moose looks like. I don't know? Maybe it's good to have a little mystery. Other than that it is another Wow!
I wanted to let you know that I added a link to your web page on my web site.
Talk to you soon.

Hi Jessica,
Your colors are beautiful. I love the wombat, he/she really grabs my attention on the page. The Moose gets a little lost as he is compositionally speaking, the same size as the coat rack, etc. If you intended that, ok. Otherwise, use size or maybe value to pull him out? I wouldn't want to disturb your palette!
Given what you said about expressions - having spent much time drawing models, I have a tendency to forget expression. I'm currently practicing with a book of photos of expressions. If you're interested, I'll send you the info on it.
